About the Opportunity

The IWK Health Centre is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team in the Adolescent Intensive Services (AIS) Program. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive mental health services to children and adolescents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct psychological assessments and develop treatment plans for youth with mental health and/or substance abuse disorders.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions to promote healthy coping mechanisms and improve mental health outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interprofessional teams to develop and implement evidence-based treatment programs.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members to ensure high-quality care and professional development.
  • Participate in program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives to enhance services and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an accredited university program.
  • Completion of an APA or CPA accredited Predoctoral Internship in Psychology.
  • Current registration or eligibility to register with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology.
  • Minimum 5 years of formal training and clinical experience in child/adolescent mental health, with at least 2 years of experience as a PhD/DPsych prepared Psychologist.
  • Demonstrated expertise in assessment and treatment of youth and families with mental health and/or addiction issues.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interprofessional care team.
  • Working knowledge of Trauma-Informed Care and evidence-informed practice.
  • NCI Certification required.
