Position Overview
As a key player in the underground drilling sector, the Product Specialist for Underground Drilling Equipment plays a vital role in driving the technical and commercial growth of our drilling and bolting product lines. This position collaborates closely with product design engineering teams to ensure that products meet functional specifications and aligns with our long-term product strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in formulating product line strategies and implement both existing and new products through a global distribution network.
- Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to ensure that product direction is aligned with market demands.
- Collaborate with design engineering teams to guarantee that technical specifications are met during product development.
- Build and maintain relationships with both new and existing customers, including end users and distributor sales teams, to promote our product lines and services.
- Coordinate with technical product support and engineering teams to address technical issues and propose enhancements that benefit the overall business.
- Compile and maintain competitive pricing models and market data relevant to underground drilling products.
- Support commercial and aftermarket teams in planning and training initiatives for drill rigs and related equipment.
- Work alongside Marketing and Product Management to launch new products and solutions, creating necessary documentation such as announcements and internal communications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or a diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience with drilling technologies, along with strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Experience in direct mining or equipment applications with similar machinery is essential.
- Familiarity with the drilling market in mining operations is preferred.
- Exceptional communication and public speaking skills, with the ability to convey complex product information to diverse audiences.
- Commercial acumen and experience in market analysis, sales forecasting, and upselling strategies are advantageous.
- Proficient computer skills for preparing data metrics, sales presentations, and training materials.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- A valid passport and driver's license, with the willingness to travel as needed.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
