Product Development Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Manager to join our team at Komatsu America Corp. in the Hard Rock Division. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing plans for our underground equipment product lines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic marketing plans for underground equipment product lines, focusing on drills, bolters, rockdrills, and retrofits.
- Liaise with technical product support, engineering personnel, account managers, and third-party dealers to ensure effective product development and sales.
- Advise on technical issues, potential solutions, or product enhancements to mitigate negative impact and improve customer satisfaction.
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing and greenfield customers, as well as EPCM's, to drive sales and revenue growth.
- Work with the sales team to ensure the highest possible level of customer satisfaction and drive sales growth.
- Develop and present technical and commercial proposals to existing and prospective customers to drive sales and revenue growth.
- Conduct market research, competitive intelligence efforts, and lead cross-functional teams to develop product sales strategies and ensure market-driven product direction.
- Presentation of new product line developments to existing and new customers to drive sales and revenue growth.
- Set and support the direction for new product development initiatives from project launch to commercialization throughout North America.
- Conduct audits and undertake on-site condition assessments of products to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Trade or engineering qualification, or extensive prior product and technical training within a similar role; credible knowledge (through work experience and training) of heavy equipment maintenance.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate customer management experience.
- 5+ years in underground mining, with product and solution sales and commercial experience.
- Full understanding of site safety and environmental protocols.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing and presenting proposals, and RFQ management.
- Project co-ordination experience and ability to conceptualize and plan a scope of work.
- Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite (Salesforce knowledge an advantage).
- Technical competence related to the operation and maintenance of heavy equipment is vital.
