About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Manager to join our team at Komatsu America Corp. in the Hard Rock Division. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing plans for our underground equipment product lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic marketing plans to drive sales growth and market share for our underground equipment product lines.
  • Liaise with technical product support, engineering personnel, account managers, and third-party dealers to ensure effective product development and sales strategies.
  • Advise on technical issues, potential solutions, or product enhancements to mitigate negative impact and drive business growth.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing and greenfield customers, as well as EPCM's, to drive sales and revenue growth.
  • Sustain and grow original equipment (OE) and service revenue and market share.
  • Work with the sales team to ensure the highest possible level of customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and present technical and commercial proposals to existing and prospective customers.
  • Become a recognized industry expert by participating in the development of white papers and speaking opportunities.
  • Conduct market research, competitive intelligence efforts, and lead cross-functional teams to develop the product sales strategy and ensure market-driven product direction is achieved.
  • Presentation of new product line developments to existing and new customers.
  • Set and support the direction for new product development initiatives from project launch to commercialization throughout North America.
  • Conduct audits and undertake on-site condition assessments of products.
  • Understand and anticipate the differing personalities of customers and ability to adapt to those customers.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A trade or engineering qualification, or extensive prior product and technical training within a similar role; credible knowledge (through work experience and training) of heavy equipment maintenance.
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • 5+ years in underground mining, with product and solution sales and commercial experience.
  • A full understanding of site safety and environmental protocols.
  • Demonstrated customer management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and presenting proposals, and RFQ management.
  • Project co-ordination experience and ability to conceptualize and plan a scope of work.
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite (Salesforce knowledge an advantage).
  • Technical competence related to the operation and maintenance of heavy equipment is vital.
