With extensive project experience and a profound understanding of municipal regulations, the Egis team has cultivated expertise in navigating the municipal approvals process.

Our land development division is expanding, and we are in search of a Senior Land Use Planner in Ontario to operate in a hybrid work environment, with access to our various offices.

Key Qualifications:

  • Completion of a university degree in land use planning or a related field;
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the land use planning sector, ideally including experience in the private sector and with municipal clients regarding development and policy review services;
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills in English (French is an asset);
  • Proven project management skills, capable of overseeing dynamic projects of varying scales, including proposal management, budget oversight, and team leadership;
  • Demonstrated leadership and personnel management abilities, providing guidance to a diverse group of technical professionals;
  • Strong proficiency in computer applications, particularly the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word); familiarity with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and GIS is considered advantageous.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently coordinating the delivery of consulting services to both private and public sector clients, including managing project teams, budgets, and administrative tasks;
  • Leading and supervising project team members as necessary;
  • Client management, including efforts to secure work from both private and public sector clients;
  • Reviewing municipal and provincial planning documents, providing professional planning insights and advice on land development projects;
  • Liaising with municipalities and government agencies regarding development applications and related planning deliverables;
  • Conducting presentations (both virtual and in-person) before municipal committees and councils;
  • Managing projects and coordinating approvals for various development initiatives (e.g., subdivisions, condominiums, consents, minor variances, official plan amendments, rezoning, site plans, etc.);
  • Producing planning reports and rationales.
