About the Role:
We are expanding our land development team and are seeking a Senior Land Use Planner to work in a hybrid setting, with the flexibility to operate from various locations. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A university degree in land use planning or a related field;
- Professional Planner designation (RPP) and membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP);
- A minimum of five years of experience in land use planning, ideally with a background in both private and municipal sectors;
- Strong communication skills in English, with French as an asset;
- Proven business development and client relationship management skills;
- Project management expertise, capable of overseeing diverse projects and leading teams;
- A collaborative spirit, working effectively with clients and stakeholders;
- Leadership abilities to guide technical professionals;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and GIS as a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the delivery of consulting services to both private and public sector clients, including managing project teams and budgets;
- Leading project teams and providing guidance as necessary;
- Engaging with clients to secure new projects;
- Reviewing planning documents and offering professional insights on land development initiatives;
- Collaborating with municipalities and government bodies on development applications;
- Presenting findings to municipal committees and councils;
- Managing project approvals for various development types;
- Preparing planning reports and rationales;
- Evaluating development submissions on behalf of municipal clients.
