Capital Strategies Lead

About the Role
As a Capital Strategies Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Communitech's approach to supporting founders in securing funding. You will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive capital programs strategy that aligns with our mission of fostering innovation and growth within the Waterloo Region ecosystem.
Your Impact:- Craft and implement a strategic roadmap for capital programs at Communitech, ensuring it directly supports founders in raising capital and achieving their growth objectives.
- Cultivate and strengthen relationships with investors across various sectors and stages, attracting investment activity to Waterloo Region.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate compelling investment opportunities within a diverse range of industries and funding rounds, from Seed to Series A.
- Conduct in-depth due diligence on companies seeking introductions, encompassing market analysis, financial modeling, and risk assessment to ensure sound investment decisions.
- Build and nurture a robust network of stakeholders, including founders, venture capitalists, angel investors, debt providers, and other key players within the innovation landscape.
- Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to founder companies, leveraging your expertise and network to empower their fundraising efforts and drive their success.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics to inform investment decisions and foster innovation within the ecosystem.
- Offer valuable pitch feedback and insightful PitchBook reports to founders, enhancing their ability to secure funding.
- Lead and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Represent Communitech at industry events and conferences, expanding our reach and influence within the investment community.
