About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at 2717161 Ontario Limited. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading the kitchen and ensuring that our menu offerings meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Execution
    • Develop and implement new menu ideas and specials to drive sales and customer satisfaction
    • Source high-quality ingredients and suppliers to ensure consistency and freshness
    • Lead a team of cooks and kitchen staff to prepare and present dishes to a high standard
  • Staff Management
    • Recruit, train, and develop a team of skilled cooks and kitchen staff
    • Provide coaching and feedback to improve performance and achieve goals
    • Manage staff schedules and rotas to ensure adequate coverage and minimize costs
  • Inventory and Cost Control
    • Manage inventory levels and ordering to minimize waste and optimize stock levels
    • Monitor and control food costs to ensure profitability and meet budget targets
    • Implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements to drive efficiency
  • Health and Safety
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards
    • Conduct regular risk assessments and implement controls to minimize hazards
    • Lead by example and promote a culture of safety and well-being among kitchen staff
Requirements
  • Education and Qualifications
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
    • Relevant culinary qualifications and certifications
  • Experience
    • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a senior chef or executive chef role
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong leadership and management skills
    • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to motivate and develop a team
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with a high level of physical activity and attention to detail. The role will involve standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, and kneeling, as well as repetitive tasks and manual dexterity.
