About the Role

As a key member of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) team, the Director of Business Banking will play a critical role in driving business growth and delivering exceptional client experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership: Provide strategic direction and guidance to a team of Senior Managers and Team Leaders to achieve business objectives and drive growth.
  • Business Development: Develop and execute business development strategies to grow the Business Banking business, improve the client experience, and build relationships with clients and prospective clients.
  • Partnership and Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders to deliver tailored solutions and meet the evolving needs of the business community.
  • Strategic Thinker: Lead the execution of strategies and tactics to drive business growth, improve the client experience, and build relationships with clients and prospective clients.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with policies, standards, guidelines, and controls to maintain a strong reputation and deliver exceptional client experiences.
Requirements
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business and personal credit principles, cash and treasury management knowledge, and experience in credit management and knowledge of Business Banking credit strategy and adjudication methodologies.
  • Leadership and People Management: Proven leadership and people management skills to lead a team within an assigned area to achieve strategic, business, and financial plans in a manner consistent with CIBC's values, strategies, core policies, and programs.
  • Business Development Expertise: Strong business development expertise to establish, grow, and sustain long-term relationships with Business Banking clients.
  • Business Experience: Demonstrated experience and expertise in understanding and meeting the financial needs of medium-size businesses, including credit, cash management, transaction accounts, foreign exchange, trade finance, and others as appropriate.
