Position Overview

The HR Data Specialist is a vital member of BDC's Human Capital Management System (HCMS) team. This role is essential for the establishment and maintenance of our HR data management framework and processes. The specialist will ensure alignment with our corporate vision and data architecture while consolidating HR data governance principles.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Implement HR data management frameworks and processes that comply with BDC's governance standards.
  • Define and maintain a comprehensive HR data catalog.
  • Develop strategies for data management and governance to ensure accuracy, integrity, and security of data.
  • Create and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and HR metrics to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Design insightful dashboards and self-service tools for various stakeholders.
  • Oversee the ingestion, organization, and preparation of data for stakeholder use.
  • Assist teams in data extraction and manipulation.
  • Document HR data requirements and provide training on data interpretation.
  • Establish a roadmap for predictive HR analysis.
  • Collaborate with Workday Functional Analysts and IT to define data lineage and association rules.
  • Identify data risks and ensure the protection of personal information.
  • Represent the HR function in committees focused on HR data.
  • Work closely with Business, Risk, IT, Compliance, and Infosec teams to integrate data governance initiatives.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in data governance, management, or quality roles, preferably in the banking sector.
  • A solid understanding of data governance principles and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address data governance challenges.
  • Familiarity with data management tools, metadata management, and data quality.
  • Knowledge of Workday HR System and its analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Proficiency in both English and French to support a bilingual work environment.
