Position Overview

The HR Data Specialist will be an integral part of BDC's Human Capital Management System (HCMS) team. This role is pivotal in establishing and sustaining the HR data management framework and processes throughout the organization. The specialist will ensure alignment with corporate objectives and data architecture while reinforcing HR data governance principles and their integration with HR processes.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Implement an HR data management framework that adheres to BDC's governance standards.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive HR data catalog.
  • Develop and execute data management strategies to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of data.
  • Create and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and HR metrics to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Design insightful dashboards and self-service tools for various stakeholders.
  • Oversee the organization and preparation of data for stakeholder use.
  • Assist teams in data extraction and manipulation.
  • Document HR data requirements and provide training on data interpretation.
  • Define a roadmap for predictive HR analysis.
  • Collaborate with Workday Functional Analysts and IT to establish data lineage and definitions.
  • Identify data risks and ensure the protection of personal information.
  • Represent the HR function in various committees related to HR data.
  • Work closely with Business, Risk, IT, Compliance, and Infosec teams to seamlessly integrate data governance initiatives.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in a quantitative field.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in data governance, management, or quality roles, ideally within the banking sector.
  • A solid understanding of data governance principles and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve data governance challenges.
  • Familiarity with data management tools, metadata management, and data quality.
  • Knowledge of Workday HR System and its analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in both English and French to navigate a bilingual work environment.
