Job Summary

Verve Senior Living is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Night Attendant to join our team. As a Night Attendant, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our residents during the night shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Initiate and document calls as per policy and procedure to replace staff who phone in to report that they will not be able to work their shift.
  • Perform duties with an exemplary standard of skill and with a sense of responsibility.
  • Ensure security of the residence and the residents during night shift.
  • Respond to resident calls, giving assistance where appropriate and contacting professional help when necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all common areas of residence as per current time guides.
  • Study floor plan layouts, fire manual and emergency plans and demonstrate familiarity with all phases of the alert system.
  • Ensure effective team communication within the residence, logs any concerns re resident behavior or incidents in Communication Book.
  • Demonstrate evidence of outstanding public relations with residents, staff and all persons visiting Gilmore Gardens.
  • Shares responsibility, through in-service and education, in safety standards of the residence.
  • Handles all matters in a confidential manner.
  • Committed to excellence and delivering an outstanding experience for our residents.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate.
  • First Aid Certificate is required.
  • Ability to maintain effective oral and written communications (in English) and have a positive self-projection, nurturing excellent human relations with residents, families and other team members.
  • Interest and knowledge in security systems and procedures.
  • Ability to respond to Alert System calls in a calm manner, and discern and prioritize need for 911, family involvement, Doctor or to offer assistance where appropriate.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and be able to demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills.
