About the Role

As an Area Manager at Amazon, you will play a critical role in leading a team of hourly workforce and driving business results. Your primary responsibility will be to engage your team during their shifts to maintain the highest levels of safety, quality, attendance, and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Team Leadership: Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce to achieve exceptional results.
  2. Operational Excellence: Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises to ensure seamless operations.
  3. Collaboration: Work closely with support teams, including Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, and Human Resources, to develop plans that meet business objectives.
  4. Physical Demands: Lift up to 49 pounds, frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach, and stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts.
  5. Work Environment: Work in an environment where the noise level varies and can be loud, and be subject to variable temperatures and weather conditions.
  6. Continuous Improvement: Continuously climb and descend stairs (applies to sites with stairs) and contribute to the growth and development of the team.
Requirements
  1. Leadership Experience: 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.
  2. Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
  3. Flexibility: Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Performance Metrics: 1+ years of experience in performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques.
