As the Vice President of Business Development, you will report directly to the Regional Vice President and be responsible for driving sales and cultivating new business opportunities within your designated territory. This role also involves managing and nurturing existing client relationships concerning Dynamic's diverse product suite. Additionally, you will provide guidance and mentorship to the Inside Sales Representative assigned to your territory, ensuring a collaborative approach to achieving sales goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a specific territory to boost sales and develop new business initiatives.
  • Foster long-term relationships with clients while actively seeking new prospects.
  • Utilize comprehensive product knowledge and interpersonal skills to enhance sales and client retention.

Primary Duties:

  • Conduct one-on-one, group, and branch meetings with financial advisors to promote our offerings (targeting 20 meetings weekly);
  • Delegate daily tasks to the Inside Sales Representative and Sales Associate for effective follow-up;
  • Organize and host events, roadshows, and manager meetings;
  • Create and review a strategic business plan quarterly to drive sales growth within the territory;
  • Segment the client base to define service levels and optimize sales across various distribution channels;
  • Maintain and enhance client relationships through systematic territory rotations;
  • Make proactive calls to clients who exceed purchase or redemption targets;
  • Manage expenses and maintain the overall budget for the region, including approving co-op requests and promotional expenditures;
  • Utilize the Diagnostic Selling Process to gather insights during meetings and update the CRM system accordingly;
  • Respond to client inquiries and follow up on leads generated by the Inside Sales Representative;
  • Develop and cultivate new business relationships;
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to the Inside Sales Representative;
  • Present new products, business development strategies, and tax-planning ideas to advisors;
  • Collaborate extensively within a supportive team environment to meet or exceed sales objectives;
  • Participate in special projects as required;
  • Adhere to Scotiabank's Global Sales Principles and consider the Bank's risk appetite in daily operations.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in commerce, finance, or business administration;
  • A proven track record of advancing into roles with greater responsibility within the financial services sector;
  • At least 5 years of sales experience;
  • A minimum of 5 years managing a sales territory;
  • Completion of CSC and/or IFIC certification;
  • A strong individual contributor who thrives in a team setting;
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook);
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management systems;
  • Enrollment in an industry designation program (CIM, CFA, CFP, etc.) is preferred;
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management skills;
  • Strong public speaking and presentation abilities;
  • Ability to stay informed on trends in the financial services industry;
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a focus on maximizing sales;
  • Willingness to travel extensively.

Successful candidates will be required to communicate effectively in both English and French, as collaboration with English-speaking teams and clients is essential.
