As the Vice President of Business Development, you will report directly to the Regional Vice President and will be responsible for driving sales and cultivating new business opportunities within your designated territory. This role also involves managing and nurturing existing client relationships regarding Dynamic's offerings. Additionally, you will provide guidance and mentorship to the Inside Sales Representative assigned to your territory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a specific territory to boost sales and foster new business relationships.
  • Establish and maintain enduring relationships with clients while actively seeking new prospects.
  • Utilize your comprehensive understanding of our products and strong interpersonal skills to enhance sales and retain client assets.

Primary Duties:

  • Conduct one-on-one, group, and branch meetings with financial advisors to promote our products and services (targeting 20 meetings weekly);
  • Delegate daily tasks to the Inside Sales Representative and Sales Associate for effective follow-up;
  • Organize and host events, roadshows, and manager meetings;
  • Create and review a strategic business plan quarterly to increase sales from advisors within your territory;
  • Segment the client base to define service levels and ensure sales from various distribution channels;
  • Maintain and enhance client relationships through regular territory rotations to increase sales and diversify product usage;
  • Make daily outreach to clients who meet or exceed purchase or redemption targets;
  • Manage expenses and maintain the overall budget for the region, including approving co-op requests and promotional items;
  • Utilize the Diagnostic Selling Process to gather data and populate the CRM system with insights from meetings;
  • Respond to client inquiries and follow up on leads from the Inside Sales Representative;
  • Generate and develop new business relationships;
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to the Inside Sales Representative;
  • Present new products, business-building ideas, and tax-planning strategies to advisors;
  • Collaborate extensively within a supportive team environment to meet or exceed sales objectives;
  • Participate in special projects as needed;
  • Adhere to Scotiabank Global Sales Principles, considering the Bank's risk appetite and culture in daily activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in commerce, finance, business administration, or a related field;
  • Proven track record of advancement in roles with increasing responsibility within the financial services sector;
  • At least 5 years of sales experience;
  • A minimum of 5 years managing a sales territory;
  • Completion of CSC and/or IFIC certification;
  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a team-oriented environment;
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook);
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management systems;
  • Enrollment in an industry designation program (CIM, CFA, CFP, etc.) is preferred;
  • Detail-oriented with strong time management capabilities;
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills;
  • Ability to stay informed on trends in the financial services industry;
  • Proactive self-starter with initiative in maximizing sales opportunities;
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
