Job Summary:
A Territory Sales Manager plays a vital role in maintaining and developing customer relationships to drive market growth for material handling equipment and other products/services provided by Johnston Equipment within a specific territory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain regular contact with customers through various channels to build strong relationships.
- Create and nurture markets for products/services provided by Johnston Equipment.
- Present product information and showcase the benefits to customers.
- Offer consulting to customers on their material handling needs.
Market Development:
- Identify and target competitive users and non-users in the territory.
- Develop strategies to convert them into Johnston customers.
- Stay connected with potential customers and communicate new developments.
- Promote new business opportunities through networking.
Proposal and Order Preparation:
- Research application requirements and prepare pricing.
- Obtain management approval for discounts.
- Ensure gross profit requirements are met.
- Prepare quotations and order paperwork efficiently.
Networking and Collaboration:
- Network to promote Johnston Equipment and its product line.
- Collaborate with other product groups.
- Attend necessary meetings.
Forecasting and Reporting:
- Prepare monthly and yearly forecasts.
- Create detailed customer and competitor profiles.
- Develop business and market plans.
- Identify target accounts for growth.
Requirements:
High integrity and work ethic, along with at least 2 years of sales experience are required. Prefer candidates with flooring or building material experience. You should be skilled in opportunity qualification, account development, and problem resolution. A valid driver's license is a must. Candidates with a proactive attitude should apply, especially if experienced in Account Management, Territory Sales Management, or Outside Sales.
