The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Material Coordinator to join our team in the Point of Care, Diagnostics division. As a Material Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials and supplies to support our production operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials and supplies to meet production priorities.
  • Review production schedules and related information to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Consult with department Team Leaders to identify department requirements and maintain work schedules.
  • Establish priorities of work assignments and input as needed.
  • Solve a wide range of problems requiring some interpretation of defined procedures and practices.
  • Select methods and practices with guidance from Team Leaders to obtain robust, thorough, and practical solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Interface with personnel in other areas to ensure seamless material flow.
  • Schedule daily activities and oversee material supply to ensure efficient flow of materials.
  • Receive materials, approve protocols, sort and incubate cartridges as required, and participate in testing when time permits.
  • Participate in day-to-day activities within the laboratory, including ordering materials and monitoring Test Lab inventory.
  • Act as a resource to Manufacturing and Test areas on issues and maintain open communication with other process groups.
  • Collaborate with Team Leaders to coordinate production flow and provide feedback on progress and barriers to achieving production goals.
  • Monitor product flow, raw materials, and other key consumables in designated areas and manage them to meet production targets.
  • Follow and ensure compliance to workplace operating and environmental, health, and safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Assist with regular Health and Safety audits, recording and reporting findings to Team Leaders and Supervisors.
  • Assist in organizing engineering experiments and planned lab shutdowns.
  • Implement improvements that will positively affect quality, productivity, and costs of material handling operations.
  • Safeguard the environment and facilitate a safe and healthy workplace culture.
  • Responsible for supporting the effectiveness of the Quality system.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as may be required.
Qualifications
  • 2 years College Diploma in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-3 years relevant work experience.
  • Previous experience in Test Lab Operations or related business is an asset.
  • Demonstrated leadership success in a team environment is an asset.
  • 4X4 A Shift Extended, rotating four days on four days off, from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm.
