Position Overview:

The Automotive Systems Validation Lead will oversee a team of engineers specializing in the validation of electrical systems within the automotive sector. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with federally mandated standards for software performance, safety, manufacturability, and the overall functionality of hardware and software components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guide the development of comprehensive Design Verification Plans (DVPs) for vehicle validation, including the creation and management of DVP&Rs and associated testing protocols, while ensuring traceability of all test artifacts to specified requirements.
  • Supervise the documentation of testing procedures and the formulation of new tests to improve validation coverage.
  • Ensure that all testing activities are thoroughly documented and that new tests are developed as necessary to enhance validation processes.
  • Oversee the validation of functional properties through rigorous testing, ensuring accurate results are recorded at all integration stages across various programs.
  • Ensure that engineers accurately document any issues in the required systems and communicate all DVP&R outcomes and unresolved issues to the Validation Project Chief.
  • Provide strategic leadership in the development and execution of testing methodologies, ensuring traceability from requirements to outcomes to enhance testing capabilities across diverse vehicle platforms.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical systems design, development, or testing.
  • Proven experience in the validation of intricate systems.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols (such as CAN / LIN) and proficiency in diagnostic tools.
  • Experience in creating DVP&R and detailed electrical testing protocols.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate testing efforts for various validation engineers and programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
  • Advanced degree in a relevant technical or business discipline.
  • Familiarity with electrical system design and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical systems.
  • DFSS Green Belt certification.
  • Reactive Green Belt certification.
Educational Background:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited institution.
Additional Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline from an ABET accredited institution.
  • 5 years of experience in electrical systems design, development, or testing.
  • Experience in validating complex systems, along with knowledge of communication protocols and diagnostic tools.
  • Proficiency in developing DVP&R and detailed electrical testing procedures.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments while coordinating testing for various validation engineers and programs.
