Position Overview
The Automotive Validation Specialist is tasked with ensuring that automotive systems adhere to federal guidelines for software performance, safety standards, manufacturability, and overall vehicle functionality.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough verification and validation processes for hardware, software, and vehicle functionalities.
- Develop and manage comprehensive Design Verification Plans (DVPs) for Vehicle Validation, including the creation of DVP&R documents and detailed test procedures while maintaining traceability of test artifacts to requirements.
- Perform initial root cause analysis and document findings effectively.
- Enhance testing coverage by developing new test protocols and ensuring proper documentation of all test procedures.
- Validate test properties functionality by executing tests and recording results at all I-Points across various programs.
- Document issues in the designated systems and provide the Validation Project Chief with all DVP&R results and any unresolved issues.
- Lead the formulation and implementation of testing strategies that ensure traceability from requirements to outcomes, thereby enhancing testing capabilities across multiple vehicle platforms.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering is required.
- 0-3 years of experience in automotive testing or validation is necessary.
- Familiarity with tools such as Vector CANalyzer or CANoe and CDA is preferred.
- Strong communication skills are essential.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory, as driving a company vehicle is required.
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 20% for meetings and team-building events.
Additional Information
- Experience with plywood buck testing is beneficial.
- Ensure that vehicle function requirements are met for signal and communication in both Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Electric Vehicles (EVs).
- Monitor the performance of modules and network management systems to identify faults.
