Position Overview: The role of the Validation Engineer encompasses the execution of verification and validation processes for automotive systems, ensuring compliance with federally mandated standards for software performance, safety criteria, manufacturability, and overall vehicle operation. The Validation team plays a crucial role in assessing the integrity of hardware, software, and vehicle performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive Master Design Verification Plans (DVPs) for Vehicle Validation.
  • Create and manage Design Verification Plans and Reports (DVP&R), including the formulation of test procedures while maintaining traceability of test artifacts to specified requirements.
  • Conduct initial root cause analysis and document test procedures thoroughly.
  • Enhance testing coverage by developing new tests as necessary.
  • Ensure functionality of test properties for validating essential functions, execute tests, and accurately record results at all designated I-Points across various programs.
  • Document issues clearly in the designated tracking systems and provide the Validation Project Chief with all DVP&R outcomes and any unresolved issues.
  • Lead the formulation and execution of testing strategies, ensuring traceability from requirements to results to broaden testing capabilities across diverse vehicle platforms.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering is mandatory.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in automotive testing or validation is required.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Vector CANalyzer and CDA is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record is necessary, as driving a company vehicle will be required.
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 20% of the time.

This position requires on-site presence with some travel for vehicle logistics. The engineer will ensure that vehicle function requirements are satisfied for signal and communication systems in both Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Electric Vehicles (EVs), confirming that modules and network management operate effectively and identifying any faults.
