Job Overview:

The Automotive Systems Validation Lead will oversee a team of engineers specializing in the validation of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with federal standards for software performance, safety, and overall vehicle functionality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage master Design Verification Plans (DVPs) for vehicle validation, including the creation of DVP&Rs and test protocols while maintaining traceability of test artifacts to requirements.
  • Document test procedures meticulously and innovate new testing methods to enhance validation coverage.
  • Guarantee that all test properties are functioning correctly for validating essential functions, executing tests, and accurately recording results across all integration points.
  • Ensure that engineers document issues thoroughly in the necessary systems and provide comprehensive DVP&R results along with any outstanding issues to the Validation Project Chief.
  • Lead the formulation and execution of testing strategies, ensuring traceability from requirements to outcomes to enhance testing capabilities across various vehicle platforms.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical systems design, development, or testing.
  • Proven experience in the validation of complex systems.
  • Knowledge of communication buses (CAN / LIN / others) and proficiency in diagnostic tools.
  • Experience in developing DVP&R and detailed electrical testing protocols.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and coordinate testing across various validation engineers and programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
  • Advanced degree in a technical or business-related field.
  • Knowledge of electrical system design and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of electrical systems.
  • DFSS Green Belt certification.
  • Reactive Green Belt certification.
Education:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited institution.
Additional Information:

  • 5 years of experience in electrical systems design, development, or testing.
