About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven individual to join our team as a Senior Business Development Manager. This role will be based in Calgary, Alberta, and will focus on expanding our market presence in Western Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a robust marketing strategy to increase customer base and revenue in line with the group's global objectives.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and coordination skills by focusing on prospecting activities while developing and maintaining key relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Establish and maintain a strong market presence by building relationships with key industry stakeholders (accounting firms, advisors, law firms, and industry leaders) and participating in relevant professional associations.
  • Work closely with internal partners, including private banking services, investment banking and mergers and acquisitions, risk management solutions, and treasury management, to initiate and structure proactive financing solutions and holistic relationship proposals that meet the specific needs of clients, within the Bank's risk criteria.
  • Stay attuned to the changing competitive market to ensure appropriate pricing/structuring of new transactions.
  • Understand market conditions impacting clients/maintain a strong knowledge of general economic conditions to ensure all risks are managed appropriately.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (business, finance, economics).
  • Professional designations and/or advanced education are considered a significant asset.
  • 8-10 years of experience in corporate lending and business banking in Canada, with a solid understanding of market perspectives.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing and implementing successful business development/relationship management strategies.
  • Excellent credit skills, with experience in structuring complex first-ranking debt financing (cash flow loans, equity investments, and acquisition financing) and working experience in syndicated loan markets.
  • Solid knowledge of loans and related products (treasury management, derivatives trading products) and ability to identify auxiliary business opportunities for existing and potential clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent networking, relationship-building, negotiation, sales/closing, and teamwork skills.
  • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other commercial systems and platforms.
  • English language proficiency is a requirement; French is an asset.
