Position Overview: The Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario is seeking a Chief of Division to lead the Pediatric Cardiology Department. This role encompasses the management of clinical services, educational initiatives, and research activities within the division.
About the Division: The Pediatric Cardiology Division is composed of a dedicated team of clinicians focused on delivering exceptional care to patients from fetal stages through to 18 years of age. The division offers a comprehensive range of services, including outpatient and inpatient cardiology, non-invasive electrophysiology, fetal cardiology, and specialized care for inherited arrhythmias, cardiomyopathy, and neuromuscular disorders. Advanced cardiac imaging techniques such as echocardiography, cardiac MRI, and cardiac catheterization are integral to our practice.
Leadership Responsibilities: The Division Chief will ensure the highest standards of safety and quality in patient care while overseeing the medical staff. This role includes leadership in operational management, resource allocation, and academic endeavors, in collaboration with administrative partners. The Chief will also play a vital role in the Cardiovascular Leadership Team while maintaining an active clinical and academic presence.
Candidate Qualifications: Ideal candidates will possess strong leadership capabilities and a demonstrated history of success in patient care, clinical program development, education, and research. Eligibility for a full-time academic appointment at the University of Ottawa is required. Proficiency in English is essential, and knowledge of French is advantageous.
Educational Requirements: Candidates must hold an MD and have certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in pediatric cardiology or an equivalent qualification. They must also be eligible for licensure in Ontario.
