Job Summary:

CHEO (Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario) is seeking a visionary and innovative Division Chief and pediatric psychiatrist to lead clinical care, teaching, and research in the Division of Community-Based Psychiatry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 16 fellowship-trained physicians providing comprehensive and specialized psychiatric and mental health services to children and youth, age 0-18, and families.
  • Develop and implement clinical care strategies, teaching programs, and research initiatives in the Division of Community-Based Psychiatry.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality patient care, education, and research.
  • Recruit, mentor, and evaluate staff to ensure excellence in clinical practice, teaching, and research.
  • Develop and manage budgets, resources, and infrastructure to support the Division's goals and objectives.
  • Engage in academic and administrative activities, including teaching, research, and service to the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa.

Requirements:

  • Eligibility for a full-time academic appointment in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa.
  • License to practice medicine with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
  • Certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Canada or equivalent.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a bilingual environment (English and French).
