Position Overview: The Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario is seeking a dedicated and experienced Chief of Division to lead the Pediatric Cardiology Department. This role involves overseeing clinical services, educational initiatives, and research activities within the division.
About the Division: The Pediatric Cardiology Division is staffed by a team of seven committed clinicians who prioritize exceptional patient care, academic pursuits, and innovative research. We provide specialized cardiology services to a diverse patient population, from fetal stages to young adulthood.
Clinical Services: Our division offers comprehensive outpatient and inpatient cardiology services, including:
- Non-invasive electrophysiology
- Fetal cardiology
- Inherited arrhythmias
- Cardiomyopathy
- Neuromuscular disease management
We utilize advanced cardiac imaging techniques such as echocardiography, cardiac MRI, cardiac CT, and perform both diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations. Collaboration with leading cardiovascular surgical teams enhances our service delivery.
Leadership Responsibilities: The Chief of Division will ensure the highest standards of safety and quality in patient care. Responsibilities include:
- Leading medical staff and overseeing operational resources
- Collaborating with administrative partners
- Engaging in academic and clinical activities
Candidate Qualifications: Ideal candidates will possess:
- Strong leadership skills in both operational and academic settings
- A proven track record in patient care, program development, education, and research
- Eligibility for a full-time academic appointment at the University of Ottawa
Applicants must hold an MD and be certified in pediatric cardiology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or possess equivalent qualifications. Licensing eligibility in Ontario is also required.
