Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Platform Developer to join our team at the Government of Alberta. As a key member of our digital infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing platform solutions that meet the needs of our government and users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Platform Design and Development
    • Lead project teams in the design and development of platform solutions using Agile delivery approaches and software development principles.
    • Apply systems thinking to help meet the needs of government and users.
    • Work with product teams to transition solutions to operations, including the preparation of relevant documentation and processes.
  • Platform Practice and Governance
    • Contribute to the development of collaborative practices and standards for data platforms.
    • Promote the value of platform solutions to facilitate their adoption in ongoing team operations.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to identify issues and provide solutions.
  • Support to Senior Leaders
    • Provide recommendations to senior leaders to improve governance standards and practices.
    • Work collaboratively with team, unit, and branch staff to ensure coordination and integration of branch functions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in platform design and development.
  • Strong understanding of Agile delivery approaches and software development principles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
