The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Strategic Initiatives to join our team at Magnet, a Centre of Innovation focused on the future of work. As a key member of our leadership team, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight of our strategic planning, partnerships, and initiatives. Your expertise will help us drive positive workforce and economic development for Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives that align with our university's goals and objectives
  • Lead and manage partnerships and collaborations with external stakeholders
  • Provide oversight and guidance on project management and coordination
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators and metrics to measure success
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders to drive business results
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree in business, public administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of leading and implementing strategic priorities and initiatives
  • Experience supervising staff in a unionized environment, preferably in a public or broader public sector organization
  • Knowledge of project management principles, practices, and methodologies
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with a successful track record working in a large matrix organization
