The Opportunity

We are seeking a Director, Strategic Initiatives to provide leadership, management, and oversight of Magnet's strategic planning, partnerships, and initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Director and Senior Director, Strategy and Operations to develop and implement strategic plans, manage partnerships, and drive organizational impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve Magnet's goals and objectives
  • Manage partnerships and collaborations to advance social innovation and the future of work
  • Provide leadership and oversight to Magnet's initiatives and projects
  • Work closely with the Executive Director and Senior Director, Strategy and Operations to drive organizational impact
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including partners, sponsors, and community leaders

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in business, public administration, strategic planning, or a related field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of leading strategic initiatives and managing partnerships
  • Experience supervising staff in a unionized environment, preferably in a public or broader public sector organization
  • Knowledge of project management principles, practices, and methodologies
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with a successful track record working in a large matrix organization
  • Demonstrated knowledge and achievement in delivering business results
  • Ability to build strong collaborative relationships with senior leaders, partners, and internal and external stakeholders
