Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Strategic Initiatives, Private Wealth to join our team at BMO. This role will be responsible for fostering innovative solutions throughout the business, collaborating with various stakeholders to assess needs, recommend process improvements, and implement solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with the bank's overall objectives and growth strategy.
  • Drive cross-functional teams towards the successful completion of strategic projects, overcoming obstacles and ensuring timely delivery within budget.
  • Work closely with department heads and external partners to identify opportunities for strategic partnerships, mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures.
  • Conduct rigorous market analysis, competitive intelligence gathering, and financial modeling to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee the development and refinement of business cases for strategic initiatives, including financial projections and risk assessment.
  • Present periodic progress reports on strategic initiatives to senior leadership and stakeholders, offering clear insights and recommendations.
  • Foster an environment of innovation and agility, encouraging cross-departmental collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure that all strategic initiatives adhere to regulatory requirements and ethical standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in strategic planning, project management, or a similar role within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of discretionary, full service investing, financial services industry, and fintech.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and implementing large, complex projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a proven ability to turn insights into actionable growth strategies.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, capable of motivating teams and building strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Deep understanding of the banking industry, current market trends, and regulatory environment.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

BMO offers a competitive salary range of $84,000 to $156,000 per year, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement savings plans.
