Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Culinary Specialist to join our team at Mother Tongue. This role involves overseeing kitchen operations and ensuring high standards of food preparation and service.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary school or equivalent experience is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years in a culinary role.
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain comprehensive records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
  • Analyze operational expenses and other relevant data to optimize kitchen efficiency.
  • Demonstrate innovative cooking techniques and equipment usage to kitchen staff.
  • Supervise the activities of specialist chefs, cooks, and other kitchen personnel.
  • Train kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking methods, and safe food handling practices.
  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals and specialty dishes.
  • Order food and kitchen supplies as needed.
Work Environment

This is a permanent position with a standard work schedule of 35 hours per week. The primary language of communication in the workplace is English.
