Lead Nurse for Surgical Services

Are you passionate about nursing excellence? We are looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to take on the role of Head Nurse at Northern Health Authority. This position is ideal for those who thrive in a dynamic healthcare environment and are committed to providing outstanding patient care.
Reporting directly to the Director of Nursing, the Head Nurse plays a crucial role in aligning with the Vision and Values of Northern Health, adhering to BCCNM Standards of Practice and Codes of Ethics.
This role encompasses leadership responsibilities, ensuring clinical expertise across various departments including the Operating Room, Post Anaesthesia Recovery Unit, Surgical Daycare Unit, Endoscopy Unit, Central Supply, Booking Office, and Visiting Specialist Clinics.
The Head Nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care tailored to meet the physical, social, and psychological needs of patients, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 06:30 to 17:00
Compensation:

Qualifications:
- Current registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN.
- At least five years of recent experience in Operating Room/Surgical Services, including two years in a supervisory role.
- Peri-Operative Certificate and current BCLS Level C certification.
- Strong clinical skills relevant to surgical and recovery care.
- Ability to manage conflict and navigate challenging situations.
- Knowledge of compliance standards in surgical environments.
- Capability to identify educational needs and provide training to team members.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Leadership qualities to supervise and evaluate staff performance.
