Head Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Nurse to lead our Operating Room team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and leading a team of nurses in the provision of clinical expertise in the Operating Room, Post Anaesthesia Recovery Unit, and other related areas.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and guidance to the Operating Room team, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement nursing care plans to meet the physical, social, and psychological needs of patients.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
- Supervise and evaluate the work of staff, providing coaching and development opportunities to enhance their skills and performance.
- Ensure compliance with established standards and regulations in the Operating Room environment.
- Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
- Minimum of five (5) years recent experience in Operating Room/Surgical Services, with a minimum of two (2) years experience in a supervisory capacity.
- A Peri-Operative Certificate and current BCLS Level C certification.
- Excellent clinical competence, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
