Role Overview

Reporting to the District Manager, the Senior Construction Project Leader is a seasoned construction expert with a proven track record of successfully delivering ICI construction projects. This role involves managing a prestigious project in a major urban center, requiring a strong focus on client relationships. The ideal candidate is an effective team builder, communicator, and stakeholder manager, adept at fostering robust connections with both internal and external partners. Proficiency in technical knowledge, leadership, and communication skills is essential for handling complex project assignments in sectors such as post-secondary education, pharmaceuticals, light industrial, and manufacturing.

As a Senior Construction Project Leader at Graham, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Collaborating with Preconstruction to prepare, revise, and oversee information pertinent to project budget development.
  2. Managing the subcontracting process, including facilitating initial scope review meetings, finalizing agreed processes, and overseeing subcontract scopes of work.
  3. Supervising budget estimates and deliverables to clients.
  4. Overseeing the creation of organizational responsibility matrices and approving project resources as necessary.
  5. Reviewing contract documents with project participants to ensure clarity on deliverables, ensuring timely and budget-compliant project completion.
  6. Generating regular status reports for company executives and client representatives detailing project progress and recommending necessary actions.
  7. Ensuring the project schedule, milestone dates, and closeout checklist are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  8. Establishing performance standards and metrics for team evaluation.
  9. Building and maintaining relationships with public and private sector clients, construction joint-venture partners, financing partners, key subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  10. Exhibiting integrity that reflects support for the company and its values while maintaining a focus on exceeding customer expectations.
  11. Negotiating effectively in challenging situations with internal and external parties, achieving concessions without compromising relationships.
  12. Actively engaging in industry, client, and community relations to enhance and promote Graham.
  13. Proactively identifying new business opportunities through relationship-building.
Qualifications / Experience:
  • A minimum of 15+ years of direct experience in construction project management within the ICI buildings sector.
  • A Technical Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction methodologies and project management processes across various contract types.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex construction projects in Commercial, Manufacturing, or Post-Secondary sectors.
  • Capability to train project staff on all project requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and a comprehensive understanding of commercial and contract terms.
