Position Overview

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire construction process to ensure that projects are executed according to the established design, budget, and timeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall construction activities to guarantee compliance with project specifications and objectives.
  • Ensure project performance is monitored and reported across various metrics, including safety, budget adherence, scheduling, quality assurance, and overall project progress.
  • Evaluate the necessity for additional personnel or consultants and coordinate with department heads to secure the required resources.
  • Prepare and present budget proposals, suggesting modifications as necessary to align with project needs.
  • Supervise project performance in terms of scheduling, cost management, resource allocation, safety protocols, and quality control measures.
  • Track and report on project milestones and deliverables effectively.
  • Oversee all phases of the project from initial planning through to final completion.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the Canadian construction industry as a Project Manager, with a proven track record in ICI, long-term care, and educational facility projects.
  • Experience managing multiple full cycles of ICI projects with budgets ranging from $60M to $120M.
  • Proven ability to manage substantial contracts involving various trades, consultants, and construction management firms.
  • Post-secondary education in a construction-related field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of diverse construction methodologies, project sequencing, potential challenges, and timelines.
  • Familiarity with project management and estimating software tools.
  • Understanding of applicable construction laws and building codes.
