Your Opportunity:
The Registered Nurse (RN) – Respiratory Outpatient Department represents a pivotal nursing role within Alberta Health Services (AHS). This position is designed to ensure that patients and their families receive timely access to essential information, support, and services related to respiratory care. The RN is responsible for providing critical pre and post-procedure information and plays a key role in the intake and coordination of care throughout the bronchoscopy process.
The incumbent will deliver high-quality patient care by offering expertise, support, and guidance in clinical practice within the department. The RN will serve as an independent role model for nursing staff, embodying the mission, vision, and values of AHS in both formal and informal educational settings.
Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), your responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of nursing services directed towards patients, families, communities, and populations. You will take necessary measures to ensure their safety and well-being. In this role, you will apply nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making. Additionally, you will engage in teaching, counseling, and advocacy on behalf of patients and their families.
Your leadership will be vital in promoting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance. You will be committed to providing safe, quality, and patient-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Required Qualifications:
To qualify, you must have completed an accredited nursing education program and hold an active or eligible registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification is also required. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of specific courses is necessary.
