Alberta Health Services is dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare services to the community. Our Operating Room is equipped with 9 specialized theatres focusing on various surgical disciplines including General Surgery, Orthopedic - Trauma and Total Joints, Plastics, Gynecology, ENT, and Urology. Our collaborative team comprises Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, Perioperative Registered Nurses, ORTs, Respiratory Therapists II, and other essential support personnel.
Position Overview:
As a Unit Clerk, your primary responsibility will be to facilitate effective communication among healthcare professionals, departments, patients, and their families while ensuring the confidentiality of patient information is upheld. You will engage in a variety of administrative duties which may encompass:
- Reception duties, including welcoming and directing visitors, patients, and healthcare staff.
- Maintaining and organizing patient records and charts.
- Transcribing and processing physician orders efficiently.
- Coordinating and scheduling patient tests and treatments.
Additionally, you will undertake a range of administrative functions to support the unit's operations.
Required Qualifications:Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Successful completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or a comparable training program.
Additional Required Qualifications:As necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in an Operating Room setting.
