We are seeking a Project Director to make a significant contribution to the future of transportation. Your expertise will be essential in addressing intricate transport challenges and overseeing innovative projects from conception to execution.

About the Role:

The Ontario Transportation Group is in search of a dedicated Project Director to enhance our expanding Canadian Operations.

Our team collaborates with various transportation agencies at provincial, regional, and municipal levels, as well as select contracting partners. We engage in a diverse range of projects, including highways, roads, bridges, transit systems, and multi-modal infrastructure, alongside transportation planning. Our comprehensive transportation services span the entire project lifecycle, from initial policy development and transportation economics to detailed design, construction oversight, and asset management support.

This position is designed for a Project Manager or Project Director eager to advance their career by leading an array of municipal planning and design projects. The role offers valuable exposure and opportunities for growth in business development, team leadership, and operational management.

Desired Experience:

  • Proven experience in successfully managing municipal and bridge projects.
  • Leading multidisciplinary teams in the preliminary and detailed design phases of road and bridge projects.
  • Taking full responsibility for project management from proposal to completion, including team coordination, budget management, scheduling, quality assurance, safety protocols, and client satisfaction.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to intermediate and junior staff members.
  • Collaborating effectively within small and large teams, ensuring integration with other engineering disciplines to produce high-quality project deliverables.
  • Advocating for best practices and leadership in the execution of Highway, Road, and Bridge Projects.
  • Supporting business development efforts, including strategic planning and proposal leadership.
  • Contributing to the formulation and implementation of business development strategies for relevant clients, enhancing client relationships.

Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Required (or eligible) Ontario designation.
  • Over 20 years of experience in the design and engineering of transportation infrastructure projects, including project management roles.
  • Experience collaborating with municipal transportation clients in the Greater Toronto Area.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proven ability to develop, mentor, and lead professional technical teams.
