About GHD: Our Ontario Transportation Group is seeking a Project Director to enhance our expanding Canadian Operations.

The Transportation Group at GHD Canada collaborates with various transportation agencies at provincial, regional, and municipal levels, as well as selected contracting partners. Our projects encompass highways, roads, bridges, transit systems, multi-modal infrastructure, and transportation planning. We deliver comprehensive transportation services throughout the project lifecycle, from initial policy development and transportation economics to business case advice, planning, environmental assessments, detailed design, construction oversight, and asset management support.

Career Path: This position is designed for an experienced Project Manager or Project Director eager to advance their career by leading diverse municipal planning and design projects. It offers opportunities for growth in business development, personnel management, and operational oversight.

Desired Experience:

  • Proven success in executing municipal and bridge projects.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in the preliminary and detailed design of road and bridge projects for municipal clients.
  • Comprehensive management of projects from proposal to completion, including oversight of teams, sub-consultants, budgets, schedules, quality assurance, safety, and client satisfaction.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to intermediate and junior staff.
  • Collaborating effectively within small and large teams, ensuring integration with other engineering disciplines to produce high-quality project deliverables.
  • Advocating for best practices and leadership in the execution of highway, road, and bridge projects.
  • Supporting business development efforts, including capture planning and proposal leadership.
  • Contributing to the formulation and implementation of business development strategies for relevant clients, enhancing client relationships.

Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Eligibility for Ontario professional designation.
  • Over 20 years of experience in the design and engineering of transportation infrastructure projects, including project management roles.
  • Familiarity with municipal transportation clients in the Greater Toronto Area.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proven ability to develop, mentor, and lead professional technical teams.
