Employment Counsellor - Full Time

Position Overview:

Your Role:

As an Employment Counsellor, you will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing client referrals and documentation to ensure a comprehensive understanding of their needs.
  • Creating and maintaining detailed case files and service plans that reflect the evolving requirements of clients.
  • Providing tailored support to individuals facing employment barriers due to disabilities.
  • Assisting clients in identifying viable employment opportunities through thorough vocational assessments.
  • Facilitating employment readiness programs in alignment with organizational and funding guidelines.
  • Delivering programs that accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Conducting analyses of transferable skills and labor market trends.
  • Crafting personalized resumes and cover letters that align with clients' career goals.
  • Supporting job placement initiatives, including job development and site analysis.
  • Offering motivational and employment counseling to enhance client confidence and readiness.
  • Utilizing case management systems effectively to track progress and outcomes.
  • Ensuring timely and efficient service delivery while maintaining high standards of client satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in Vocational Rehabilitation, specifically working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Proven experience in teaching and facilitating employment programs.
  • Awareness of the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities in the workforce.
  • Familiarity with contemporary vocational rehabilitation methods, including assessment and job placement strategies.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong customer service abilities.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills, with a focus on teamwork.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
