We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as an Employment Counsellor. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve their employment goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept referrals and review client documentation to ensure accurate and effective service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive case files and service plans that reflect clients' evolving needs and goals.
  • Provide vocational assessment and exploration services to help clients identify realistic employment options.
  • Deliver employment readiness programs that cater to individual learning styles and abilities.
  • Conduct transferable skills analysis and labour market research to inform job placement services.
  • Support clients in creating tailored resumes and cover letters to enhance their employment prospects.
  • Facilitate job placement services, including job development, client and employer needs analysis, and job site analysis.
  • Provide employment and motivational counseling to support clients in achieving their employment objectives.
  • Utilize case management/IT systems to ensure timely and cost-effective service delivery.
  • Manage services to ensure quality standards are met, including client satisfaction, timely delivery of service, and employment outcomes.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years' experience working in Vocational Rehabilitation with people with disabilities.
  • Experience teaching and facilitating employment programs.
  • Sensitivity to issues/barriers that people with disabilities experience.
  • Familiarity with current methods of vocational rehabilitation, career counseling, and job placement services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Well-developed time management, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to document, maintain records, and analyze and write reports.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
