Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Metalworking Machine Operator to join our team at Metalcor Building Systems Inc.. This is a permanent position that requires a commitment to quality and safety in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment
  • Work Term: Permanent

  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
  • Willing to relocate: Yes
Key Responsibilities
  • Construct staging or erect scaffolding for substantial metalworking tasks.
  • Inspect products for accuracy in shapes, dimensions, and specifications.
  • Maintain and lubricate machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Shape and form metal stock into parts or products through cutting, bending, rolling, reaming, punching, drilling, and welding.
  • Document completed work and maintain accurate records.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues to perform minor repairs.
  • Set up and operate various light or heavy metalworking machines.
  • Utilize gas or oil-fired furnaces to heat metal to appropriate temperatures prior to forging.
  • Operate machines that weld, solder, bolt, screw, or rivet metal components together.
  • Manage presses or other forging machines for hot or cold forging processes.
  • Load metal pieces into furnaces and monitor heating processes.
  • Adjust dies on forging machinery as required.
  • Position heated or cooled metal pieces on dies for pressing or forging.
  • Interpret specifications and follow verbal instructions accurately.
  • Remove metal pieces from furnaces when they reach the desired forging temperature.
  • Select and transport materials to the work area, either manually or using cranes or hoists.
