Job Summary

CANMEX WELDING INC. is seeking a skilled Welder Apprentice to join our team. As a Welder Apprentice, you will be responsible for assisting experienced welders in the fabrication and repair of metal products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the interpretation of welding process specifications and blueprints.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.
  • Examine welds to ensure they meet standards and specifications.
  • Operate flame-cutting equipment to cut metal.
  • Operate metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines.
  • Fabricate and repair metal parts and products using welding, brazing, and soldering techniques.
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of welding equipment.
  • Sort and organize metal sheets and parts, scrap metal, and other materials.
  • Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, and other materials from metal surfaces.
Requirements
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in welding or a related field.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment with exposure to dust, noise, and dirty conditions.
