We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabrication Specialist to join our team at Metalcor Building Systems Inc. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining metalworking machines, ensuring high-quality products are produced efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities- Machine Operation: Lay out, set up, and operate light or heavy metalworking machines to perform various metal fabrication tasks, including cutting, bending, rolling, and welding.
- Quality Control: Check products for correct shapes, dimensions, and specifications, and document work completed.
- Maintenance: Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment, and perform minor repairs as needed.
- Material Handling: Select and transport material to work area manually or using crane or hoist.
- Work Environment: Work in a fast-paced environment with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and be able to handle heavy loads and work under pressure.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in metal fabrication or a related field.
- Physical Demands: Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, with up to 9 kg (20 lbs) of weight handling.
- Personal Suitability: Flexibility, judgement, and a team player attitude.
The work environment is cold/refrigerated, dusty, hot, noisy, and with odours. The work setting is willing to relocate, and the job requires overtime.
