Position Overview

The Real Estate and Development Department is dedicated to fostering vibrant communities that embody the values of the Squamish Nation. The Manager of Real Estate Development plays a pivotal role in advancing our mission to create sustainable economic growth for the Nation and its Members while spearheading innovative projects across the Squamish Nation Territory.

Our initiatives involve thorough assessments of Squamish Nation lands, crafting development strategies that align with the Nation's social, environmental, cultural, economic, and political aspirations. Established in 2018, Nch'ḵay̓ serves as the economic development entity of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw, Squamish Nation, with a focus on managing and owning the Nation's active business ventures, ensuring a clear distinction between business operations and political affairs.

Role Details

The Manager of Real Estate Development is a Permanent Full-Time position located at Nch'ḵay̓'s Head Office. This role is instrumental in generating wealth and prosperity for the Squamish Nation's community. Key Responsibilities

The Manager of Real Estate Development will oversee a variety of significant projects, engaging directly with senior leadership to coordinate all aspects of asset management for properties owned or managed by Nch'ḵay̓. This includes:

  1. Leading property management initiatives and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  2. Conducting site evaluations to maintain high standards of property upkeep.
  3. Collaborating with Property Management to optimize operational costs and service contracts.
  4. Implementing effective leasing strategies to minimize vacancy rates.
  5. Managing unique property projects, including tenant relocations and stabilization of new developments.

Financial Oversight

The Manager will also be responsible for:

  1. Developing and managing operating and capital budgets for assigned properties.
  2. Overseeing financial operations, including rent collection and expense management.
  3. Preparing detailed financial reports for stakeholders, highlighting variances and trends.
  4. Enhancing marketing efforts to promote rental units and tenant engagement.

Team Leadership

In this role, you will:

  1. Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering their professional growth.
  2. Conduct performance evaluations and offer constructive feedback.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  1. A strong understanding of Squamish Nation culture and values.
  2. A minimum of five years of experience in real estate or asset management.
  3. A relevant post-secondary degree in real estate, urban planning, or a related discipline.
  4. Proven experience in managing projects from inception to completion.
  5. Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse perspectives.

Working Conditions

This position requires frequent site visits and the ability to work collaboratively within the community.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $120,000.00 to $125,000.00 annually, accompanied by a robust benefits package including health care, dental care, flexible scheduling, and paid time off.
