About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Director of Housing and Community Development. This is a key leadership position that will play a critical role in shaping the future of affordable housing in our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to our housing operations team, ensuring that we are delivering high-quality services to our clients and stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to expand our affordable housing portfolio, including identifying new funding opportunities and building partnerships with community stakeholders.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of our housing sites, ensuring that they are well-maintained and that our tenants are receiving excellent service.
  • Lead the development and implementation of our annual operational budgets, ensuring that we are managing our resources effectively and efficiently.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with our funders, including BC Housing and other government agencies, to ensure that we are meeting our funding obligations and delivering value for money.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices, identifying opportunities to improve our services and operations.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field, such as urban planning, project management, or public administration.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role in the affordable housing sector, with a proven track record of delivering results and building successful teams.
  • Strong knowledge of the affordable housing sector, including funding models, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
