Position OverviewWe are seeking a full-time Lead Addiction Recovery Counsellor. In this role, you will serve as a therapeutic guide, accompanying clients through their recovery journey from intake to completion. You will conduct clinical assessments and provide valuable insights to inform treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities- Offer leadership and direction to a team of counsellors.
- Assist the Clinical Director in overseeing clinical services.
- Coordinate training and onboarding for new counselling staff.
- Help develop and assess all stages of the treatment program, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards.
- Establish therapeutic relationships with clients promptly.
- Conduct comprehensive client orientations and assessments.
- Create individualized treatment plans shortly after client admission.
- Set weekly treatment goals tailored to each client.
- Provide appropriate referrals to specialized programs.
- Facilitate individual therapy sessions regularly.
- Organize family conferences during the treatment process.
- Document client progress consistently.
- Engage with referral agents and funding sources regularly.
- Maintain healthy boundaries with clients' families.
- Lead group therapy sessions and educational workshops as scheduled.
- Oversee the overall treatment experience for clients.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counselling or a related discipline, along with relevant licensure and certifications. A minimum of three years of experience in a substance use disorder treatment environment is essential.
Valuable skills and experiences include:
- Experience in acute care or inpatient addiction treatment settings.
- Background in complex case management for individuals with substance use disorders.
- Experience in facilitating group therapy sessions.
As a candidate, you will demonstrate exceptional facilitation and collaboration skills, showing empathy and a client-centered approach. You will effectively manage daily operations, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for both clients and staff.
