Position Overview

This role is a vital addition to our finance department. We are looking for an individual with a solid background in accounts receivable and payable, as well as inventory management. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, adaptable, and enthusiastic about learning in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities

The Accounts Receivable and Payable Specialist will collaborate closely with the finance team leader. Initial duties will encompass:

Accounts Receivable (A/R)
  1. Generate sales invoices in both CAD and USD, ensuring timely delivery to clients.
  2. Review quotes, sales orders, and related documents to confirm the accuracy and completeness of invoicing.
Accounts Payable (A/P)
  1. Manage accounts payable invoices for inventory acquisitions from suppliers in various currencies, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  2. Input accounts payable invoices into the accounting system, keeping records accurate and current.
  3. Reconcile supplier statements with internal records to ensure all invoices are accounted for and discrepancies are resolved.
  4. Organize and file accounts payable documents as they are received for easy retrieval.
  5. Address and communicate any accounts payable issues with vendors, including discrepancies and payment terms.
  6. Assist in preparing and processing payments to suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate fund disbursement.
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Evaluate, manage, and enhance the inventory accounting process for accuracy and efficiency.
  2. Participate in periodic stock counts to verify inventory levels and identify any discrepancies.
  3. Prepare necessary reports as requested by the finance team leader or management.
  4. Support other finance team members with various tasks and projects as needed.
  5. Engage in various projects and additional duties as assigned by the finance team leader or management.
Qualifications
  1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in an AP/AR Accountant role or a similar position.
  2. Strong knowledge and experience in inventory accounting.
  3. Proficient in using computerized accounting systems.
  4. An associate degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
  5. Exceptional attention to detail.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Excellent organizational abilities with the capacity to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  8. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  10. Familiarity with EXO (MYOB) Accounting Software is a plus.
  11. A collaborative team player who is flexible and open to change.
  12. A positive and proactive attitude.
