About the Role:This is a new addition to our finance team. We are seeking a candidate with experience in accounts payable/receivable and inventory accounting who is flexible, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will enjoy working within a team that values a positive work culture.

Job Description:The AR/AP Accountant will work closely with the finance team lead. Initial responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Accounts Receivable (A/R):
  • Prepare sales invoices in both CAD and USD currencies and ensure they are sent to customers in a timely manner.
  • Analyze quotes, sales orders, and other source documents to ensure accuracy and completeness of invoicing.
Accounts Payable (A/P):
  • Process accounts payable invoices for inventory purchases from suppliers in various foreign currencies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Enter accounts payable invoices into the accounting software, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Reconcile supplier statements with internal records to ensure all invoices are accounted for and discrepancies are addressed.
  • File accounts payable documents as received, ensuring they are organized and easily retrievable.
  • Resolve and communicate any accounts payable issues with vendors, including discrepancies, payment terms, and queries.
  • Assist in the preparation and processing of payments to suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of funds.
Other Duties:
  • Analyze, control, and improve the inventory accounting process to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Participate in quarterly and annual stock count processes to verify inventory levels and identify discrepancies.
  • Generate necessary reports as required by the finance team lead or management.
  • Assist other finance team members with various tasks and projects as required.
  • Undertake various projects and other duties as assigned by the finance team lead or management.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3 years of experience as an AP/AR Accountant or in a similar position.
  • Good knowledge and experience in inventory accounting.
  • Experience using a computerized accounting system.
  • An associate degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of EXO (MYOB) Accounting Software is an advantage.
  • A team player who is flexible and adaptable to change.
  • A positive attitude.
