Job Description

The AR/AP Accountant will work closely with the finance team lead. Initial responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


Accounts Receivable (A/R)
  1. Prepare sales invoices in both CAD and USD currencies and ensure they are sent to customers in a timely manner.
  2. Analyze quotes, sales orders, and other source documents to ensure accuracy and completeness of invoicing.
Accounts Payable (A/P)
  1. Process accounts payable invoices for inventory purchases from suppliers in various foreign currencies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  2. Enter accounts payable invoices into the accounting software, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  3. Reconcile supplier statements with internal records to ensure all invoices are accounted for and discrepancies are addressed.
  4. File accounts payable documents as received, ensuring they are organized and easily retrievable.
  5. Resolve and communicate any accounts payable issues with vendors, including discrepancies, payment terms, and queries.
  6. Assist in the preparation and processing of payments to suppliers, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of funds.
Other Duties
  1. Analyze, control, and improve the inventory accounting process to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  2. Participate in quarterly and annual stock count processes to verify inventory levels and identify discrepancies.
  3. Generate necessary reports as required by the finance team lead or management.
  4. Assist other finance team members with various tasks and projects as required.
  5. Undertake various projects and other duties as assigned by the finance team lead or management.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. 3 years of experience as an AP/AR Accountant or in a similar position.
  2. Good knowledge and experience in inventory accounting.
  3. Experience using a computerized accounting system.
  4. An associate degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
  5. Strong attention to detail.
  6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  7. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  8. Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  10. Knowledge of EXO (MYOB) Accounting Software is an advantage.
  11. A team player who is flexible and adaptable to change.
  12. A positive attitude.
