Position Overview:

The Child Protection Worker operates under the supervision of the Children Services Supervisor. The main goal is to assess and investigate allegations of child maltreatment and neglect, determining the necessity for intervention services aimed at family preservation.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as an Officer in accordance with the Child & Family Services Act for the Province of Saskatchewan. Evaluate risk factors affecting children and families utilizing the Structured Decision-Making framework established by the Ministry of Social Services. Complete case plans, documentation, and legal agreements as per the Family Centered Case Management Manual. Deliver intervention services and develop problem-solving strategies to mitigate identified risks. Engage actively with Prevention Services in family group conferencing, case discussions, and planning. Refer families to suitable agencies for specialized services, including counseling, addiction treatment, and child assessments. Prepare necessary documentation and represent cases in Family Services Court as required. Maintain up-to-date and accurate files and documentation. Execute child apprehensions when deemed necessary. Conduct informational sessions about ICFS in the community as directed. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work (BISW). Ability to provide a recent and satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Record Check, and Driver's Abstract Clearance. Possession of a valid Class 5 Driver's License is required.
